Getting started

You sign in to Neotexa with your GitHub account, and you work in a workspace: your company's board, its projects, its team and its credits.

Sign in with GitHub

Neotexa has no passwords of its own: you sign in with GitHub. Neotexa asks GitHub to create and push repositories for you, because every project's code goes to a private repository in your GitHub (or your organization's), made and pushed as the person who runs the build.

  1. 1Press Sign in on neotexa.io, or open the console.
  2. 2Approve Neotexa on GitHub's page (only the first time).
  3. 3You land on Your workspaces.

Get a workspace

A workspace is your company's board. There are two ways to be in one:

  • Start your own. Signed in with no workspace, the page says Start your workspace: pick a pack of credits, name the workspace (lowercase letters, digits and dashes, like acme), give an email for the receipts, and press Continue to payment. You pay once on Stripe's page, with no subscription, and the workspace is owned by the GitHub account you're signed in with. You can also buy from the pricing page and sign in afterwards.
  • Join your team's. Ask an owner of your company's workspace to add your GitHub username in Settings → Members, then sign in again.

Open and switch workspaces

On Your workspaces, each row shows the workspace, its credits and your role; press it to open its board. Inside the app, the switcher at the top of the sidebar shows the workspace you're in: open it to pick another, or Manage workspaces to go back to the list. The menu at the bottom of the sidebar has Workspaces and Sign out.

Owners and members

RoleWhat they can do
OwnerEverything a member can, plus the workspace's settings: members, credits, GitHub, connections, domains, the vault and alerts. Only owners deploy a project or send it to the app stores.
MemberWorks the board: starts projects, runs steps and prompts, opens previews, reads every tab.

A workspace can have as many members as you like. Everyone builds with their own GitHub account. Only owners see the sidebar's Workspace group (its Overview and Settings).

Finding your way around

  • Build in the sidebar: the Board with every project, and Running with what Maria is working on now.
  • Workspace (owners): its Overview at a glance and its Settings.
  • At the top: the + New project button and the light/dark switch. At the bottom of the sidebar: your credits.
  • Ask Maria, at the bottom of the page, answers questions about using Neotexa.

Next: the board and its stages.
