App stores

A project with a mobile platform can send its app to Apple's TestFlight and to Google Play's internal testing, built by Expo EAS. Releasing it to everyone stays with you, in each store.

The connections you need

An owner adds them in Settings → Connections, under Publish mobile apps:

ConnectionWhat it takes
Expo EASAn access token, from expo.dev → Account settings → Access tokens. Expo builds the apps on its own machines.
Apple App StoreAn App Store Connect API key: its Key ID, Issuer ID, your Team ID and the .p8 key, with the App Manager role. Needs the Apple Developer Program.
Google PlayA service account's JSON key, invited in Play Console → Users and permissions with permission to release.

Google asks for the very first upload of an app to be made by hand in the Play Console. The first iOS build may need Expo's credentials set up once.

Send a build

  1. 1Open the project's Deploy tab and its 📲 App stores section.
  2. 2Press 📲 Build & send to both, or send to iOS or Android only. Only owners can.
  3. 3Expo builds the app and sends it on: iOS to TestFlight, Android to Google Play's internal testing. Neotexa links to the builds on expo.dev to follow them.
